I had the opportunity to work with McKennah during her time at Jake’s Fireworks, where she quickly became an invaluable member of our team. McKennah assisted with a wide variety of projects, including managing social media across multiple platforms, supporting photo and video initiatives, and contributing to marketing campaigns. Her bilingual skills were especially beneficial in one of our heavily Hispanic retail locations, where she helped us better serve and connect with our customers.
Throughout her employment at Jake’s Fireworks, McKennah demonstrated professionalism, organization, and initiative. She was quick to learn, eager to help wherever needed, and consistently delivered quality work. Her positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond made her a great asset to our team. McKennah was an exceptional designer who consistently impressed us with her dedication and skill. Our Training Division had never had a logo before we worked with McKennah. I wanted something that would embody the robust training culture that the Olathe Fire Department embraces, while also displaying our new facility and our Olathe, Kansas roots. Our fire department is steep with tradition, and it was important that the logo included elements of our first Olathe Fire Department patch, which was a red circle with white writing. When I first talked with McKennah, I provided her with some very rudimentary drawings and ideas. I asked her to take these drawings and then incorporate our passion for training, our new fire academy, our traditions, and our Olathe roots. Our Fire Academy is considered the “Foundry”, a place where our members develop, sharpen, and hone their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
I found McKennah very easy to work with during the design process. She was always professional and very personable. She impressed me with her timely responses and her ability to quickly adapt and alter her design options for our logo. We discussed many changes and options as we worked towards the final design. Each time she presented a new option, it was clear that she listened to my thoughts, but also allowed her creativity to show through in the design changes she provided. I believe that she has a very bright future ahead of her in the design field.
